Guest lopilop Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 Hello Lots of people where saying that CM7's wifi driver was defective. In my case it disconnects the connection and doesn't connect back anymore (it has nothing to do wiht the sleep policy. It also seams that Ginger Stir Fry wifi driver is 100% ok. So.. I was wondering if some genius could create a zip. that would replace CM7 original wifi driver with the one that's on Ginger Stir Fry. By the way.. People are also saying that the sound driver of Ginger Stir Fry better is than the one that comes on CM7. If it is possible it would be nice to have a .zip with the same functionality as the zip above. Thanks for your attention.

The reconnection is mended in CM7 (though not yet released). A patch for it is available somewhere in the Cm thread.

Guest wbaw Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 The wifi driver is a kernel module, so it is dependent on the kernel version. GSF uses the .35 kernel, CM7 uses .32, so it wont work until they get the .35 kernel source that was released the other day merged into CM7.

Accidently before I had this driver idea I was using GSF and I realy liked it. But I prefer CM7 because all that funcions that it has. GSF Is remarkably better with the scroll and with the audio, but CM7 seams to be faster in most of the situation. Edited September 4, 2011 by lopilop

I haven't tested it intensely yet, but it seams to work, at least when the screen is on. I chosed to never sleep, but when screen is of it sleeps. So I tried to download a large file and I locked the screen. Past some time I turned on the screan and it was connected. FAIL: The wifi was on and i locked it. Then, I unlocked the phone and it was disconnected. After that he tried to reconnect but he didn't made it. Then I tried to connect it manualy and it faild again, but a bit later it connected alone. It isn't 100% stable yet. Edited September 4, 2011 by lopilop
