Guest Andro0 Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 Hey, I find it really annoying that the default Email app on the Zte Blade downloads all the messages from the server wether they are marked as read or not. And if I read them on the device they appear as Unread on Hotmail. I would like to receive ONLY new emails I haven't read yet. Just like the Gmail App that works incredibly fine! And I would also like to be able to read messages that are stored in Folders. The Email app only shows the messages that are Inbox. Is there any way to change this? If not, do you know any good Email app (sort of like the Gmail App but for Hotmail?) Thanks.

I use gmail more than hotmail so would not know but can offer a suggestion - why not forward all your hotmails directly to gmail and use the Google's gmail app instead? :)
Guest rockstarszzzz Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 Forwarding your Hotmail to gmail is the only option. Not just blade but for android. There is no official Hotmail app. Pop3 servers don't allow push. Thus the issues. I forward everything to gmail by default. You can do it from gmail setting under forwarding and pop option. Works perfect! Plus all emails in default app one place! So you can even get rid of gmail app or email app!
Guest Andro0 Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 I have several hotmail accounts, would that work too on Gmail? And would it also sync the folders? Thanks for your answers.

Guest k0zmic Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) Just setup Hotmail as an Exchange account. I think it does most, if not all things that you're asking for. http://bitnode.net/2...tmail-exchange/ I use it and it's fine, delighted Microsoft implemented this so you can use Push Email for Hotmail. Guest snowbord Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Try k-9 mail. The default mail app is rubbish.
Guest swisstourist Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 i tried 5 mail application, all suck...except the maildroid and u can use pop3... if u do u have to configure ur email account and ask gmail or whatever to make a copy of ur email because POP3 erase the mail once downloaded on the phone. the bog advantage( vs IMAP), i doesnt sincronize all ur email, and u can ask only to receive the new one.i never understand the excitment with this imap...pop and smtp are the best just to get email on the go. how to configure: google how to configure POP gmail or yahoo.
Guest Andro0 Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Hey that exchange thing in hotmail is awesome! Thanks a lot

Guest Kamikaze. Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I use Enchanced Email. It allows me to have all my emails on one app. It supports at least Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo. The only con is the price, it costs 7 euros, but I think it's still reasonably priced. I use email every day, mostly because of my job, but I also get a lot of private stuff.
Guest unrandomsam Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Try k-9 mail. The default mail app is rubbish. The default email client is actually fairly good. (Orange rebranded / licensed version of seven). The default AOSP one is terrible though.
