Guest Simono Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I buy new car charger because previous (made in China) cannot charge my phone while I launch GPS navigation. This charger is HTC CC C200 with output max 1A I see charging very slowly like on USB (for about 40 minutes no one percent more) is on the Blade limitation for max current while charging via USB. Probably Blade diagnose this charger as USB charger. Maybe cable is made different. Can someone help with this?
Guest flshg Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I bought a car charger from carphonewarehouse, made in china, 500mA output but the blade sees it as AC charging and so charges at a reasonable speed. I would say there must be some wiring difference.
Guest CIM1 Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 What does System phone battery status say - AC, USB or Discharging? Needs to be AC otherwise it won't be drawing enough current to charge. I have two different car chargers which both come up as AC. This is signalled by a short in the USB charger itself I think - so showing AC does not really guarantee that the charger is really capable of delivering 1 amp, only that the short is there to tell the OSF that the phone is plugged in a 1A charger and not a USB port.
Guest Nick Rhodes Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I've recently suffered from dodgy USB cable and charger connectors (center pin to circuit board solder).
Guest Maringer Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I've got the HTC C300 two-socket car charger and it worked pretty well initially and we were able to use it to keep all our phones charged at Glastonbury (we were slumming it in a Motorhome ;) ) The charger provides 1 AMP from both USB sockets. However, as a caveat, I should mention that when I went on holiday last month, charging was a bit hit and miss on my Motorola Defy - it seemed to charge fine most of the time but, on other occasions stopped charging for no apparent reason. My girlfriend's SF seemed to charge without any problems when we were away so the problem may be an OS glitch - I am using MIUI on the Defy and some builds are less stable than others. Despite the minor problems I encountered last month, I'd certainly recommend this charger - the previous Belkin one I used wasn't wired correctly so could only provide 0.5A and this wasn't enough to charge a phone when running CoPilot SatNav.

Guest wbaw Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 If it says AC charging then that's as good as it gets. It's just that gps sat nav uses a lot of power.
Guest Simono Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 But if I connect only phone to charger and don't run navigation charging is so slowly.
