Guest Amphoras Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 I love the Blue Ginger ROM but I would like to enable OC for it. Is it a good idea to flash kernel from this topic? I think it`s compatible (Blue Ginger is based on GSF, and GSF is based on Ginger-leak). Can somebody tell me is it good idea to flash this kernel to Blue Ginger and if it should work? It should work. Make a backup and give it a try, if it doesn't work you can just restore your backup.
Guest mitchde Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 "v.2.4.1 (12th Sep 2011) - Unique Version : VR- BFQ -CFQ - NOOP all in one version. Just pick it with No Frills CPU Control" Can someone in short explain whats the difference to V2.4 (VR) ? I have No Frills CPU installed but not set / used it. I only run it without making changes to get seen whats could be set. With 2.4 i see VR+NOOP as IO options. What does V2.4.1 means i case of me (not using No Frills CPU Control) and others which used that for OC.

Guest saspipi Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 is audio routing (for sip calls ) fixed with this kernel? I'd like to know the exact same thing. Anybody, please?
Guest manusim Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 Hello, good work on the kernel, thanks. Though, i have a question Built in functions: CIFS - TUN- FUSE- DM-CRYPT - UTF8 -- EXT3 - EXT4 - JDB2 How can i make cifs working? I can't see any cifs.ko module in system/lib/modules (is it elsewhere?) I tried to mount a cifs share on the sdcard without any success, i get a 'mount: invalid argument' error Thanks for your help.
Guest hudasp Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) burstlam Are you planning make CM7 kernel from lastest patch3 N179+ with your nice modifications? Second question is about undervolting of procesor. Principle is the same as on Xperia X8 (Xperia X10i Mini xx series), works and this help to better holding power. In source code is somewhere this table, the last but one number (red color) is voltaging settings for frequency. static struct clkctl_acpu_speed pll0_960_pll1_245_pll2_1200[] = { { 0, 19200, ACPU_PLL_TCXO, 0, 0, 19200, 0, 0, 30720 }, { 0, 120000, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 7, 60000, 1, 1, 61440 }, { 1, 122880, ACPU_PLL_1, 1, 1, 61440, 1, 1, 61440 }, { 0, 201600, ACPU_PLL_2, 2, 5, 67200, 2, 2, 61440 }, { 1, 245760, ACPU_PLL_1, 1, 0, 122880, 1, 2, 61440 }, { 1, 320000, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 2, 160000, 1, 3, 122880 }, { 0, 403200, ACPU_PLL_2, 2, 2, 201600, 1, 3, 200000 }, { 1, 480000, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 1, 240000, 1, 4, 200000 }, { 1, 604800, ACPU_PLL_2, 2, 1, 302400, 1, 5, 200000 }, { 1, 614400, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 307200, 1, 5, 200000 }, { 1, 633600, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 316800, 1, 5, 200000 }, { 1, 652800, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 326400, 1, 5, 200000 }, { 1, 672000, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 336000, 1, 5, 200000 }, { 1, 691200, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 345600, 1, 6, 200000 }, { 1, 710400, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 355200, 1, 7, 200000 }, { 1, 729600, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 364800, 1, 7, 200000 }, { 1, 748800, ACPU_PLL_0, 4, 0, 374400, 1, 7, 200000 }, ... On my Blade works fine all numbers -1 from 650 MHz below on .32 kernel from johnsmithx. But he doesn´t make this again:( The best road to make this for all is prepare any script for change this numbers. If I understand well, this do x8uv-vXXX-x10m.zip file on Xperia phones. Hi. Same question here, how do we get cifs working? I have Cifs Manager installed and I just get some wierd error? I have used Cifs Manager before with other roms but then I have loaded cifs.ko from system/lib/modules. Do I have to tell you all that I am a n00b? ;) Thank you in advance! Sorry, as I said, I am a n00b! Cifs is working perfect with Cifs Manager. My mistake, I used wrong information. Many thanks for you kernel! /Henke Edited September 13, 2011 by MrHenke
Guest snowbord Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 So does burstlam's 2.4.2 kernel fix the no sleep after phone call issue? Also, has anybody noticed that the notification bar randomly disappears?
Guest brickornot Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 So does burstlam's 2.4.2 kernel fix the no sleep after phone call issue? ... YES
Guest ManMetDeHamer Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 would be realy nice if its possible to add undervolting to this kernel. It would make our blades battery life even better.
Guest Unbalanced Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 would be realy nice if its possible to add undervolting to this kernel. It would make our blades battery life even better. I second that. With the latest roms we have great battery life but with undervolting our batteries can last longer. I hope that there is the capability of doing that. Thanks for this great kernel.

Guest Reysy Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Did you reinstall fixed 2.4.3 Kernel dl and now working? Yup, and it's chagring faster. Phone wakes up only with power button.
Guest mitchde Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Thanks - updated GSF with K 2.4.3 fixed - all OK. Q: I use NOOP as IO scheduler, in which cases may new SIO IO scheduler option be better?
Guest tmmp Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 I'm still getting only 19 points in the Antutu CPU-float test. What am I doing wrong?(using 2.4.3 now) Are you using GSF B24?
Guest agpoli Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 No, another variant of this leaked build.
Guest burstlam Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Thanks - updated GSF with K 2.4.3 fixed - all OK. Q: I use NOOP as IO scheduler, in which cases may new SIO IO scheduler option be better? SIO is base on Deadline Scheduler, It writes data with out sorting. Therefore, It gives better Database I/O performance for emmc / ssd.. internal storage which doesn't need sorting at all. though at peak performance is lower than VR scheduler but SIO is more stable. try several test run with Antutu and u will see the difference Edited September 14, 2011 by burstlam
