Guest deadstar91 Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Hi there I've got a ZTE blade and so does my brother, and we've both put android 2.3 with cyanogen mod 7 on it using a total phone transfer. We're both on orange and after having done the TPT, we've been using the phones without any problems for well over a month. My brother's college building seems to block all phone signal in it and has always done, only one day last week he came out and the signal didnt come back and hasn't been back since. If you go and search for networks it finds vodafone, t mobile, orange and o2 but it's not letting him connect to it. I've re-done the tpt and put my sim card in and still nothing. His sim card works fine in his old nokia so it's not that either. If i've read it right, there isn't a problem with the antenna as it finds those 4 networks, just wont let him get on any of them. Wi-fi also works fine though im guessing that there could be another antenna for that. Any thoughts? Thanks
Guest flshg Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Is the phone unlocked? If so, try a sim card from another provider. Check if the phone imei is being blocked by your network carrier: the imei should be in the phone settings somewhere.
Guest dirlan2001 Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Hi, Re-doing the TPT might have bricked the phone. It's possible that the GSM-radio is damaged cause of continiously trying to get a sgnal inside that building.Try putting another ROM on it and see if that helps. I recommend GSF b19 or higher, or EliteMovil r8v2 from XDA.... CM is too much battery-drainer. :D Dirk
Guest deadstar91 Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Thanks a lot guys. Did a CheckMEND check on the imei and it's not blocked (don't know why it would have been as it's a new phone but worth a shot!) Is there a risk of doing too many tpt's then? I'll give putting another ROM on it a go, though i've just been told that apparently he dropped his phone before this happened...
Guest deadstar91 Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Ok I put GSF b19 on it and no luck it still won't get and signal. Does that mean it's more likley than not the antenna?
Guest flshg Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I think that is most likely. Try converting it back to stock and asking orange for a replacement.
Guest deadstar91 Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Ok... I put this ROM on in a TFT to put the orange crap back on - And now it works again. He's got signal and everything. Any idea why? Anything to stop me putting GSF back on?
Guest flshg Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Very bizarre, but at least it works. Yeah if you want try gsf again since you know it'll still work with the stock rom.
Guest deadstar91 Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 Well this morning it's gone again so I'm guessing it's the antenna... Very weird!
