Guest brickornot Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Is there something for example like SetCpu=speedX if (running on top app == fbreader ) ? I mean - if i am reading book cpu can be very slow, slowest because it is not needed to be fast, but when some app is coming on top like sms, speed increase. Or just smartass2 will do good ?
Guest flshg Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Tasker should be able to handle this, possibly also something like automateit (I think thats the name). In tasker, you could set up a trigger for when an app is running (your fbreader) to load a profile that sets the cpu govenor to powersave or conservative or your choice of min/max cpu speed, resetting it upon exit. It takes a while to figure out how tasker works but it is very powerful and flexible. Having said that, I think tasker may be overkill, as the ondemand govenor will underclock accordingly i.e. when you are reading a page, the system does very little work so cpu works at min speed anyway.
