Android 'my phone number'

Hello, I am currently in the process of moving networks with my unlocked San Francisco from o2 to giffgaff. I was wondering what the 'my phone number' will show up as in the settings (settings--about my phone----status) as the number is going to be my o2 number ported over, I have heard that it may show as the number that is originally on the giffgaff sim card or unknown. Has this happened to anyone and can you change it to show the correct number, thanks wing_commander6

GiffGaff SIMs are shipped without a phone number being embedded on the SIM....

You can sort this with an app called MyPhoneNumber from the Market and write your phone number to the SIM.

However, I'm unsure if it works on Gingerbread ROMs, so if you are using one of the newer Custom ROM's, it may not work....

I put my giffgaff in my bro's iphone & put the number on that way

I used the app listed above to add my number from my giffgaff port to CM7

I face an "unknown error 8" whenever I try to install that app... tried looking it up on google but so far nothing worked. Anyone got any idea on how to fix this issue?
