Please Help! Phone stuck on android start screen!

Hi,

I was about to add some audiobooks to my phone before but the usb was not connecting(never happened before), so I tried to reboot my phone and now it is stuck on the second screen you come to after the android 'person', the word 'android' being constantly highlighted. It's been like this for about half an hour now. It normally takes only 20 seconds or so.

Few details;

It's a TFT gen 1.

I'm running 2.2 Swedish Spring.

Giffgaff sim card, IDK what details are appropriate !

16gb micro memory card

The only thing I can think of that I've done differently with the phone in the 24 hours is set advanced task killer to the highest level/most aggressive.

I've tried taking the battery, mem card & sim card out etc but nothing has helped.

Please help!!

Take out battery for about 10 seconds, put back in, leave out sim card and sdcard.

Start phone with vol- held to enter clockworkmod and clear dalvik-cache, reboot.

Thank you for the reply but I ended up putting a new rom on and it worked. Impatient, I know! Gonna take me hours to put everything back where it was.

Does anyone have any idea why this happened to prevent it from happening again ?
