Guest LMetalbrick Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Hi,I tried to flash the [LEAK][2.3.4] Acer_LiquidMT_3.027.01_EMEA-GEN1_03.27.01 from tomsmod_v1.1.1_AcerUI based on Acer_LiquidMetal_1.100.00_EMEA-GEN1_01.02.02 and I surely made a mistake. Now my Metal does not work, if I turn on it seemes to enter Recovery mode in fact I can feel three vibrations before it enters endless vibration loop. It works In SD Download mode and it seems to find the 03.27.01 BIN successfully, however this is what is displayed on screen:"OSBL Version=(many numbers) #0 #0 #0 #0All-in-1 image /mmc1/acer_ug/acer_xx/ACER_L~1.BIN was found size=(many numbers)SD Image Download Procedure...Failed!Read File Fail, please restart again" . I tried to change the sd card thinking the first one was corrupt but nothing changes. No hard reset is possible, it starts in download mode in every case, then device kept vibrating. I tried to remove battery and put it back -- the same.Without battery inserted, pluged in USB, the same.I have tried restarting several times and I re-downloaded the BIN to check it was not corrupt. I also tried to overwrite the BIN onto the sd card but nothing.I wiped everything before starting, please help me!
Guest Bobiwen Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 I had the same problem one month ago. I had to send my Liquid to Acer support. They sent it back 10 days later out of any charge and working on Gingerbread. Thanks Acer support.
Guest k0zmic Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Can you try using the Acer Download Tool to flash firmware and see if makes any difference? Probably a better idea to do the above. Edited September 14, 2011 by k0zmic

Guest Bobiwen Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 To LMetalbrick : I thought I would receive an invoice or a at least a quotation before my phone would be repaired. But I received the phone directly. Moreover, the hotliner on the opening of my file said it would not be covered by the warranty if I did a mistake by flashing an unofficial ROM. To davidevinavil : In my parameters, it's displayed as : Acer_LiquidMT_3.027.01_EMEA-GEN1
Guest bentbot Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 I have the same 3.027 ROM, and it is working OK. But SD Download Mode is broken since installing it. I get: SD Download Mode OSBL Version=A4-03.27.01 #0 #0 #0 #0 SD Download Image Procedure...Failed!IMAGE_DIR_NOT_FOUND and constant vibrate until I pull the battery out.
Guest TechnoLover Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 IMAGE_DIR_NOT_FOUND means that the folder "acer_ug" isn't present on the sdcard or that the image for flashing is missing

Guest LMetalbrick Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) Hi, here's the news (good and bad news!) ... today my metal turned back (for free ;-)) with a new motherboard and with Android 2.3.4 (3.027...) but also with a problem: when i'm talking people can not heard me... instead I hear fine... I think I'll have to send to repair again... any idea? That's not all: user interface menu' is missing... why? I tried recording my voice but nothing... could it be an hardware problem? what about tryin to upgrade to 2.3.5? thank you all! Bye!! Edited October 5, 2011 by LMetalbrick
Guest gomax Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 IMAGE_DIR_NOT_FOUND means that the folder "acer_ug" isn't present on the sdcard or that the image for flashing is missing I'm getting same message as OP. Tried to upgrade ROM using SD Card method. File loaded OK but on reboot stalls at SD download mode screen with "sd image download procedure... failed image dir not found. Checked card, directory /file present OK Have tried 3 different cards formatting both quick and full. All key combos give same result. No bootloader available either Connecting USB to PC just boots the same so can't reflash with acer tool. Gonna leave battery out for a few hours, see if that clears the blockage. Hope it's not bricked! Would be the first fail in many years of flashing devices, bios, ROMs & peripherals. Appreciate any solutions, Google hasn't come good yet.
Guest Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 You also have to try several version of the BIN. We also found out that standards 2Gb class 4 sd cards are more successfull in completing the update process.
