Guest john.smith Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) Found in ZTE official facebook page and did some research: 1GHz CPU 3.8" screen 512MB RAM 4GB ROM native Android 2.3 Forums in Japan call this "Blade2", looks like a better looking device than Skate! But we don't yet have the cases at www.sofiz.co.uk (we do have iphone 5, though!) Edited September 15, 2011 by john.smith
Guest WAWA72 Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) Very Fine. Looks much better as the Skate Edited September 15, 2011 by WAWA72

Guest Roph Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 I'm not sure I like how much bezel there is.
Guest Pelemane Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Yes that looks good compared to Skate. There were something about that at CES 2011. Check this It's old vid but still. It says that it will come at second half of the year and here is specs: Model: V881 OS: Android FroYo GSM: GPRS EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900Mhz HSPA+/UTMS 900(850)/1800/2100Mhz Display: 480x800 pixels, 3.8", WVGA TFT+TPIC (Capacitive touch screen) Camera: 5.0 MP Color CMOS AF (Customized) BluetoothTM 2.1, A2DP, AVRCP WiFi/GPS/GMS Optional: Micro SD, FM, A-GPS
Guest john.smith Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 The ZTE shows V880 and V881 being sold in Japan on shelf, but otherwise I couldn't find further details on any Japanese websites. It's a 1GHz CPU so it has to be Arm7 or better... I don't think they can overclock an Arm6 to 1GHz. LOL Arm6 or Arm7 ?
Guest hecatae Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 looks identical to this: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=3186&c=zte_star_7_009z
Guest jurrasstoil Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Looks a bit like the Sony Ericsson Xperias
Guest tcpaulh Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Waterproof to 1metre? Sounds good. Not the slightest bit shock resistant though.
Guest whitelight Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 This must be the San Francisco II then.
Guest FrankieADZ Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 San Francisco II....interesting :) just hope its as good as the first ;)
Guest popoyaya Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Nicer design but not much of an upgrade to the Blade really, no dual-core, tegra, etc. Would be fine as a first smart phone @ £100
Guest Nuuna Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Like Sony Ericsons ... Allways hating their desing :)
Guest deksman2 Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) The 3.8" screen is not exactly something I relish to be honest, though it's larger than Blade's 3.5". Same hardware specs with a 4.3" screen would be MUCH better if you ask me and considered an 'half-way upgrade'. This seems more like a 'revision' if anything (much like the SKATE - which has a larger screen). Although, I approve of the 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU. This is essentially what the Skate should have been (with the 4.3" screen of course). Question... wasn't there talk about the SKATE receiving an update which would bump up it's CPU speed to 1Ghz down the line? Though I don't know how advisable that would be since Arm11 cpu's aren't exactly too stable past 800Mhz... unles they release a 'revised Skate' which has an early gen snapdragon cpu in it running at 1Ghz. Guest gwebb Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 I don't think there is anything new here, but there is another article on Engadget. http://www.engadget....bumps-in-specs/
Guest The Soup Thief Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 I don't think there is anything new here, but there is another article on Engadget. http://www.engadget....bumps-in-specs/ And another one with a nicer pic http://www.intomobile.com/2011/12/06/zte-v881-next-generation-blade-thats-going-sell-like-hotcakes/ (actually, this is just reporting on the Engadget China story) Has a flash Has a decent processor and GPU (Hopefully) will have ICS (or if it doesn't this will be resolved once it's let out...) Hope it comes soon - the Blade was trailed for about 6 months before it reached the shops. Hope this doesn't take that long... Hope Huawei have a good reply...
Guest iKrautDroid Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Hope it will be as cheap as the blade and can be unlocked easily...
Guest ablackswan Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) it is announced under 200$. a really nice smartphone to replace the blade. good specs and a screen under 4" and maybe we will get a stable and working ICS on it :D Edited December 9, 2011 by ablackswan
Guest jurrasstoil Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Hope it will be as cheap as the blade and can be unlocked easily... I hope that ZTE realizes that this will be quite essential for the success of the device.
Guest JudasLucifer Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Shame that there is no more news on this, seems pretty damn nice IMO :P
Guest ablackswan Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 what's new about a release date?
Guest Snaku Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Just stumbled upon ZTE very own e-zine (need acrobat reader reader to view) http://www2.zte.com....orld/201104_en/ There is one bold sentence in the e-zine that floored me, I wonder how much truth is behind this ;) In testing, the camera was shown to take better images than other 5MP cameras
