Found in ZTE official facebook page and did some research:

1GHz CPU

3.8" screen

512MB RAM

4GB ROM

native Android 2.3

Forums in Japan call this "Blade2", looks like a better looking device than Skate!

But we don't yet have the cases at www.sofiz.co.uk laugh.gif (we do have iphone 5, though!)

The ZTE shows V880 and V881 being sold in Japan on shelf, but otherwise I couldn't find further details on any Japanese websites.

It's a 1GHz CPU so it has to be Arm7 or better... I don't think they can overclock an Arm6 to 1GHz. LOL

Arm6 or Arm7 ?

Waterproof to 1metre? Sounds good. Not the slightest bit shock resistant though.

Nicer design but not much of an upgrade to the Blade really, no dual-core, tegra, etc. Would be fine as a first smart phone @ £100

The 3.8" screen is not exactly something I relish to be honest, though it's larger than Blade's 3.5".

Same hardware specs with a 4.3" screen would be MUCH better if you ask me and considered an 'half-way upgrade'.

This seems more like a 'revision' if anything (much like the SKATE - which has a larger screen).

Although, I approve of the 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU.

This is essentially what the Skate should have been (with the 4.3" screen of course).

Question... wasn't there talk about the SKATE receiving an update which would bump up it's CPU speed to 1Ghz down the line?

Though I don't know how advisable that would be since Arm11 cpu's aren't exactly too stable past 800Mhz... unles they release a 'revised Skate' which has an early gen snapdragon cpu in it running at 1Ghz.

I don't think there is anything new here, but there is another article on Engadget.

http://www.engadget....bumps-in-specs/

And another one with a nicer pic http://www.intomobile.com/2011/12/06/zte-v881-next-generation-blade-thats-going-sell-like-hotcakes/ (actually, this is just reporting on the Engadget China story)

Has a flash

Has a decent processor and GPU

(Hopefully) will have ICS (or if it doesn't this will be resolved once it's let out...)

Hope it comes soon - the Blade was trailed for about 6 months before it reached the shops. Hope this doesn't take that long...

Hope Huawei have a good reply...

it is announced under 200$.

I hope that ZTE realizes that this will be quite essential for the success of the device.

Just stumbled upon ZTE very own e-zine (need acrobat reader reader to view) http://www2.zte.com....orld/201104_en/

There is one bold sentence in the e-zine that floored me, I wonder how much truth is behind this ;)

In testing, the camera was shown to take better images than other 5MP cameras
