Guest duvee Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) Hi guys, Well, I have searched for eduroam info in this section of the forum and google, and I saw there were also others who had the same problem. How to set up an Eduroam connection? I really have no clue about what I am doing with the PEAP server things and stuff.. And on the eduroam connection page, it is all made up clear for android 2.0-2.2, but 2.3 and 3.0+ are missing. Hoping to get some information about how the settings are for android 3.0+ (vegacomb). I saw Newbie gave an CWM package to install for this problem? But it isn't online anymore. :( This is the only thing, why I don't use VegaComb as the standard Rom, I allways have to switch back to corvus due this problem now if I'm at school. :( Cheers, Duvee. -------------- Edit: My attempts were: PEAP/Mascv2 (or something haha) then [email protected] no [email protected] Password. Guest duvee Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 come on guys.. :( more information about the problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266362 Hi, I have the same problem, but am able to provide some more information. 1. I'm unsure if the phase2 authentication (MSCHAPV2) is saved correctly. When i edit the connection again, it is set to "None", but i when i edited the connection with wifi advanced configuration editor (app), it wás set to MSCHAPV2. 2. My Android 2.3.4 EVO 3d connects without any problems. 3. It gets stuck in a loop of scanning, connecting, disconnected. So the problem should be in authentication. I've read a couple of threads outside of XDA, but none of their solutions work.. -Mo
Guest WWEpsp Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 im really interested in this too, if no one finds a solution maybe newbe5 & co can find a solution when they finish with camera and USB host fixes...
Guest Quipeace Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Heya, I just noticed this post here on Modaco, after posting a bug report a couple of days back. Bug: Cannot connect to 802.1x EAP eduroam network. Vegacomb version: 8.1 Stock rom version: V2 Device: (usually) POV Mobii Tegra Apps running: Nothing in particular... SwiftkeyX, Gmail, Amazon Appstore... Steps to Reproduce the bug: Try to connect to an 8.02.1x EAP network. TTLS, PAP Result: Tries to connect, but almost instantly disconnects. Additional info: I can connect with my SGS on CM7 using the following settings: Network SSID: eduroam Security: 802.1x EAP EAP Method: TTLS Phase 2 Authenication: PAP CA certificate: (unspecified) User certificate: (unspecified) Identify: [email protected] Anonymous Identity: none Password: password These settings don't work on Vegacomb sadly...
Guest duvee Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) these settings won't work indeed, only for android 2.1-2.3. because you have to use: Network SSID: eduroam Security: 802.1x EAP EAP Method: PEAP Phase 2 Authenication: MASCV2 CA certificate: (unspecified) User certificate: (unspecified) Identify: [email protected] Anonymous Identity: none Password: password I have found something that I will try today, let you know if it worked for me. Guest duvee Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 No luck in using a certificate for saving referenties. Don't know what to try now..
Guest WWEpsp Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 so sad... :( BTW, i also tried editing the connection with "Wifi Advance Configuration Editor" no luck...
Guest duvee Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 men o men.. I tried the full wifi app for maximum connection, but it didn't help the process either. I wish newbie could help us out, since vegacomb 1.7 DID support eduroam.
