Absolutely written phone off!

Hello everyone, got a Blade, do not know what GEN it is. I flashed it before finding out and didn't check in to everything before doing so.

When I turn it on it boots in to clockwork recovery v3.0.1.4 straight away. I have flashed various roms to the phone but it does not work. Have I killed the phone permanently? I have literally read nearly every post for this phone over the internet and nothing has worked so far. Is there anyway to tell what gen the phone is without it being turned on? Thank you.

If you bought it from Orange I think it must be Gen1.

What did you flash it with, specifically?

There is a thread in the ROMS and ROM etc section about how to restore a phone, I suggest you read that first if you have not already...

I purchased it second hand but it was orange. I have read nearly every topic and tried nearly everything. The problem is it says there do not flash gen 1 on gen 2 and gen 2 on gen 1. i need to first establish whether it is gen 1 or 2 and take it from there. So orange usually means gen1?

If you can get into Clockwork, which you can, you can't go far wrong. If you flash a bad rom, you just go back into clockwork and flash another.

As you have Clockwork 3.0.1.4 there's a good chance it's still gen 1. I think that was the last gen 1 version?

All San Francisco versions of the Blade were sold a Gen1. If all else fails try a gen 1 to gen 2 upgrade if you are already gen 2 it wont change anything.

Coldembrace I have tried that, i placed the image file on the sd card and pressed vol+ and power on, however it does not load the conversion :( I have used the ZTE flasher now and installed gen 1 rom on to it. When you boot it you see the ZTE logo for a second and then it shows up the FTM screen. Clockwork orange has now been removed I think.

what do u mean u flash and it doesnt work.

i did the same and it works fine.

you have to copy paste a ZIP file on your card.like swedish spring.

then go to clockwork, and "install ZIP"

then wait for 10 minutes at least. and voila!!!

if it is a gen1 then you must either use a gen1 rom or one of the TPT roms, or it won't work as most roms are gen2 only these days.

have a look at wbaw's thread here and either just do the tpt v9 (which will convert to gen2 and update clockworkmod) and then flash cm7 nightly 179, or use the all in one "tpt + cm7 rc1" zip which will do the lot.

Your device is Gen1.

You installed a Gen2 rom.

And then you tried TPT. You pressed Vol+ and power on.

You have to press Vol+ and power on and MENU. :lol:

You have to unzip (extract the TPT.zip file so that you have an IMAGE)
