Newbie seeks advice on roms and RAM

Looking around for an Android tablet and came across 09/Feb r8 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Advent Vega with Online Kitchen .

I know it says for Advent Vega but can it be used on other machines?.

Also where a machine uses say 256 DDR Ram can it be upgraded to 512 or 1gb?

Hi Keith, ROM's are device specific, so an Advent Vega ROM will only work on that tablet. RAM, you can't upgrade core components such as RAM, they are soldered to the motherboard and are not user serviceable parts. I'm not sure of your budget, but I would seriously recommended ASUS Transformer tablet. I bought one for my girlfriend and she loves it. I bought it here in Italy for around £320. I hope this is helpful.

Looks like I am getting a Via WM8650 (early Xmas present so cant complain :lol: well not much anyway,) so guess I am stuck with a stock version for now.
