Guest Crayonmuncher Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 The phone here is another from orange that looks to be a rebranded ZTE, like my blade but i cant find any info on it, i seemed to have found that it maybe a zte-g n295 but i cant seem to find it on their site, atm it runs using an orange operating system can this be changed, does anyone actually have this phone to comment on how it works and how easy it is to unlock? http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/orange-sydney-black Cheers
Guest t0mm13b Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Not sure - judging by the UI it does not look android to me... if it was the spec would have pointed that out.... it looks touchwiz-y/symbian-y....
Guest Crayonmuncher Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 I saw a video review that said it was def not android and said it has a 528 Mhz cpu, So im thinking arm cpu jus tI think it would be good if I could get android on it.
Guest Maxsas360 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 By the looks of it I think Its a Samsung Star II
Guest dirlan2001 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 (edited) By the looks of it I think Its a Samsung Star II Right :) : Orange Sidney, another Android-based smartphone, also known as Samsung Star II, is also listed as “coming soon” on the carrier's official website. In case of doubt, Yahoo is ur best friend... Took me about 8 seconds to find it ... :D Dirk Edited September 24, 2011 by dirlan2001
Guest The Soup Thief Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Google's always a better friend than yahoo! http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/07/04/orange-stockholm-with-android-and-orange-sydney-coming-soon-to-the-uk/ Apparently the Sydney is a featurephone rather than an Android smartphone http://www.ADVERT LINK REMOVED.com/reviews/Samsung-Star-II-Review_id2684 Cheap and cheerful from the looks of it, but it certainly ain't no blade
Guest Maxsas360 Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 I think it deserves some Android treatment
Guest weeo Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 No, This isnt a Android phone, it has the same UI as the LG cookie from Orange, this is just a upgraded version of the LG cookie Lite

I really don't think it is - they're completely different devices from this - as mentioned earlier, the ZTE Sydney is a rebranded Samsung S5260 Star II (otherwise known as the Samsung Tocco Icon) running Touchwiz 3 Not worth getting too excited about and not moddable in any interesting way Or so I thought, then I got on a bit of a Google trail and discovered that actually there are some loons out there modding things like this - here are some instructions about installing new firmware Youtube vid about an Iphone mod, or a blackberry storm mod Really, have these people nothing better to do with their time? (yes, I am aware of the irony in my last comment - am stepping away from the keyboard)
