I don´t know if this phone is available at your place, but you might consider the huawei ideos x3...

Over here it´s about 99 €... it´s still not a high-end-device, but probably at least slightly better than our lovely pulse...

On the other hand, consider how important official updates and stuff are for you, as Huawei turned out to be pretty bad at these things ;)
