Motorola Droid Bionic Contacts Crashing/fix

Recommended Posts

I have enjoyed this site which has helped me fixed problems on my last phone so I would like to share this problem and solution so others can benefit. Feel free to move this message as I could not find the droid bionic forum.

Problem - Motorola Droid Bionic on Verizon Wireless. Previous phone - Samsung Omnia with Windows version 6.5. Verizon Wireless did the contacts transfer phone to phone. First time, unable to edit any contacts on the new phone. Second time factory reset and new copy of contacts. Phone would freeze or crash when trying to use contacts. Each contact was listed twice. Also, within each contact, the information of the contact was duplicated around 20 times.

Solution -

· I ended up having to do a third factory reset of the phone.

· I plugged my Windows 6.5 device into the computer and followed Motorola’s website tips to extract my contact information in my Outlook Contacts list (see below).

· I reenabled my corporate sync to my company’s exchange server and synced contacts and everything works wonderfully. No more crashing trying to use the contact list, I am able to edit the contacts and the phone in general is faster.

Lesson learned – use the Motorola website to help do a contact transfer, not the Verizon Wireless contact transfer at the store.

Note: My storage space for contacts went from 49mb down to just over 1 mb.

Hope this helps others as I was nearly ready to return the phone things were so bad.

Cindy
