Battery boost

I know battery performance is a major issue on all smart phones and the blade doesn't have the best battery out there, so I thought I'd share my experience with the SF's battery over the past few days.

I have owned my SF since Oct 2010, from Feb 2011 Its been unlocked, rooted and running FLB - r11 . I have been using and charging every day so I hazzard a guess the battery is not in the prime of its life!

I normally get a days moderate usage(calls - text -internet) with approx 30% remaining by the time I crawl into bed, sometimes it drops to 15- 20 %.

Last week I had to factory reset the phone after issues with registered google account blah,blah and decided to set the phone up differently after using a blackberry curve (2g only) for about a week as my son borrowed th SF.

This is how I currently have SF set up;

Auto date/time - off

2g normally - switch to 3g when required then back to 2g

background data - on

Auto-sync off - I manual sync a few times during the day

Auto brightness - on

wi-fi - off when away from home network

wi-fi sleep policy - when screen turns off.

Airplane mode - on (when im sleeping)

Today the phone was fully charged 10 hrs ago and is showing 90% battery after a few calls/texts and light internet use (wifi). Yesterday I hammered the phone using wifi with some 3g also, and 24 hrs after removing it from charge it had 42% bat. left. Before that I had 2 days easily with moderate use without needing to charge.

The 2G isn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be, I have created a shortcut to make switching between 2g-3g easy when I need the 3g speed.

Hope this is useful, it's completely changed my phone.!!

I turned off the Wifi - Network notification and noticed a considerable saving in battery usage,

My OSF works more than 6 days. 2G network, some wifi, 5-10 calls during day, some messages, brightness - minimum, reading books about 1-2 ours a day. ROM - custom made Japan Jelly 2.2 for me by mysefl. :)
