no media volume

I have the custom rom instaled on my vega and when i go to utube for example I have no sound. when i look at the sound in settings media sound is turned right down to off and if I move the slider up and exit this is not saved. the volume and notification sliders remain where you put them however.

Am i missing something? is there another setup setting i need to change?
