Guest Richard_Arkless Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Hi last week my sister complained about her loudspeaker not working on her zte blade, tried everything including wiping it and come to the conclusion its a hardware problem, anyway just now I phoned up orange and booked it for a replacement, thing was after I got off the phone I accidentally dropped it because the phone's charging cable got tangled in my office chair Picked it up and I realised then that the loudspeaker now works, so should I ring them back to say that it "somehow" fixed itself or should I just let it get replaced and dont say anything, the point im getting at is will they try it out and if they see it works will they want the replacement back, the likelihood is that the wire connected to the speaker is loose and when I dropped it moved back into place so it will likely stop working again EDIT: oops I just realised that I posted it in the wrong thread so I apologise Edited September 29, 2011 by Richard_Arkless
Guest flshg Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 If its working then I'd say best to cancel the repair/replacement.

Guest hugobosslives Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 this may sound a bit silly but.... i would give it a few gentle knocks to see if the speaker stops again; if it does, just take it to orange. If it doesn't, should be okay :)

If it doesn't, should be okay :) Tried it and nothing but ive asked my sister and she said that the speaker would stop working on a regular basis and to fix it she would knock it with her hand and the reason why she told me was because that method stopped fixing the problem (I guess the drop was enough to move it back in place again) so its probably best to send it off Edited September 29, 2011 by Richard_Arkless
Guest doogsville Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 How long before the guarantee expires? If you don't have long, I would say stick to the original plan and have them look at it. Tell them it's an intermittent fault though, otherwise if they can't recreate the problem they might not replace or repair it. If you have a while before it's out of guarantee, wait and see. Maybe the drop fixed the problem permanently.
