Guest Chris Charles Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) Hello I was using Cyanmod 7.3 and then there was a problem when using GPS so i decided to use the ROM Manager app which I had been recommened to install a new ROM. I decided to go for an older version of Cyanmod. I download it and it was on the SD Card and then I went to install it. It rebooted into CLockwork Recovery backed up everything and installed the new rom. I rebooted and then has been stuck on the green android screen. I plugged it into the computer and windows doesn't recoginse the device. I've tried installing a driver but nothing. I need to somehow reset the phone and get windows to recognise it so that I can manually install a new ROM. Please Help! Regards Chris I AM UNABLE TO BOOT MY PHONE OR ENTER RECOVERY MODE Edited October 2, 2011 by Chris Charles
Guest t0mm13b Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) Sounds like Clockwork recovery was for the older gen1 hence seeing the "Stuck on the green android screen". Best solution - use TPT which is mentioned on another thread. Use that to restore the handset back to normal. :) Then flash the latest nightly CM7 nightly 210 and you should be okie :) Edited October 2, 2011 by t0mm13b
Guest KonstaT Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 First thing you can try is to boot your phone into ClockWorkMod. Hold volume down while you power on. Choose wipe data/factory reset. Try to reboot. If that doesn't work, you've probably installed gen2 ROM into a gen1 device or vice versa. That CM 7.3 doesn't give much clue, because latest version is 7.1. You probably mean 7.0.3? And why would you go for an older version anyway? You can use memory card reader to move new ROM .zip into your sdcard. Or you can select mount&storage -> mount usb stoge in ClockWorkMod and plug USB to your PC. I recommend that you try to install Ginger Stir Fry in this case because it supports both gen1 and gen2 devices. Boot into ClockWorkMod powering on while holding volume down. Choose wipe data/factory reset Choose install zip from sdcard Choose choose zip from sdcard Choose gsf-blade-b27.zip Choose reboot now
Guest doogsville Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) I could be wrong, but I my understanding of your post is that you need to know how to reboot the phone as it's stuck at the Android screen. Take the back off the phone, and either take the battery out to power it down and then put it back in and switch it on, or press the reset button, which is in a little hole beside the battery on the right hand side. I use a pen to press it myself. Then you can wait to see if it reboots normaly or you can follow the other suggestions for getting it working again. Good luck with it. Guest hugobosslives Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 did you have a nandroid? if so install it.... otherwise you can either reflash a nightly which matches your gen (dunno if your gen2 or gen1) or try the tpt method above
