Guest james1986 Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 I was wondering if anyone has any expierience of using a high(er) capacity battery with the ZTE blade. How much extra life do you get and what size is the battery? I have been looking at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1500mAh-Battery-ZTE-San-Francisco-Blade-V880-NEW-/180712611702?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a134f9f76#ht_3010wt_930 on ebay. Seems a reasonable price to have a try. Jim
Guest Roph Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 £5, why not. Ordered. I'll report my findings :)
Guest Chris Banks Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 Its 20% bigger than the original. So If your a heavy user, and your battery lasts for about day, you will be gaining an extra 5 hours. If your a light user and your battery lasts say 2 days, you'll get about 9 more hours. The best way for you to get longer battery life is to probably buy it and use them both with one as a spare, if your planning on being away from a power socket for some length of time.
Guest james1986 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 I'm just getting annoyed with my battery only lasting 12 hours of very light use. Im suspicious of the 1500mAh battery being a fake and being just the same capacity as the original
Guest Totyasrác Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 I also ordered two - will check back with the news as soon as I have them :D

I would recommend wiping your battery stats.
Guest Maxsas360 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 You have to redo the battery calibration
Guest parsifal Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) About the 1500 mAh battery mentioned in the opening post and all the other eBay listings with the following photo, I suppose: ...let me save you the trouble: Edited October 4, 2011 by parsifal
Guest james1986 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 ROM: CM7 . With other ROMs (GSF/SSpring) I used to get 24 hours battery life (measured using battery left app). Now im getting 12 hours if im careful and use 2g networks. How do i re calibrate the battery? If it's the thing where i charge fully then switch off and charge again it does not work! JP Should last longer than that really... What ROM are you running? I would recommend wiping your battery stats.

JP Charge fully, turn off and charge for a little longer, boot into CWM (Power on and vol down), go to advanced, then click wipe battery stats. That seems to work good for me if I suffer poor battery life after changing ROM's. Also, have you checked what's using up your battery? You could have a problematic app(s) draining your battery. If you still get poor battery life after that there is the possibility your battery could be a duff one, liPo's don't last forever unfortunately. EDIT: Correcting spelling. Guest james1986 Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 I had ~50 apps installed on my OSF. After a clean install of the OS (CM7), recalibration of the battery and removing all apps I am now easily getting 48 hours battery life with moderate use. Just goes to show how androids true multitasking can have a dramatic effect on battery life when you have lots of apps installed. I think ill keep my phone with just the few apps I have installed now and maintain good battery life. Guest Roph Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Been using it for a few days, it seems to be about the same as the original one. Now I just keep one as a spare in my wallet :)
