im happy to report ive not been back here for quite some time, my pulse has been delightful, until today when it has been extremely sluggish taking 10-15 seconds to load apps :\ tried several reboots and rebuild dalvik, this solved it, but was reading through a thread and someone mentioned cm6.4, i just checked my phone and it has

"cm6.1.0-RC2-Pulse-f0.3.3" is this the latest stable one? i dont want to flash cm7 as it doesnt have a working camera as far as i know and i need that feature :(

thanks

I am currently using a modded version of android 2.1 called "Ferdinand The Bull". Best rom on my pulse, so far.

:o how does it compare to cm6/7?

Without a camera, CM7 is a non-starter for me.

Regarding FTB or the "Basic CM61-Pulse0.40" rom, I think it's a toss up. ;) But you can also consider FLB 1.7. It is a great 2.1 mod, created by someone who really knew what he was doing.

I've not heard of a CM6.4 rom.

Having similar problems myself ... must try rebuilding dalvik etc to see if I can get it "upto speed" again!

Went into a2sd gui to clear dalvik and discovered that swappiness was 30 ... I'm sure I'd reduced this to 15 or 20 ... so that clearly wouldn't have been helping!

It depends on your swap partition size. The larger your partition is, the smaller your swappiness value should be.

With a 32mb swap partition, my swappiness is set at 30 and it seems to work well. But back when I had a swap file of 64mb, I set it at swappy15. YMMV.

Pulse has got slow again ... looked at swapiness in a2sd gui and its back at 30 again. Checked via terminal emulator and discovered that the a2sd gui is changing the current swappiness value but not writing a script to update it on every reboot as is the case with a2sd swappyxx .... and as I've rebooted since I last set swapiness down to 15 that's why its back to the default 30. (N.b. I have a 64MB swap partition so 15 may be more appropriate than 30).
