Cock up whilst reflashing

here's hoping that it is actually impossible to brick one of these. Whilst performing the change from R8 to VegaComb i was half-way through , i had successfully put the Mod stock back on and had kicked off recovery, but instead of using the volume control to move down to the factory reset i accidentally hit the power off button ( was being asked homework questions about the Thermohaline Cycle and got a bit distracted ). The unit powered down and now when i try to reboot it the screen powers up but is blank. I have tried to reboot it into recovery mode and reflash it to no avail.

Panic over people, situation normal - carry on with your business. I tried the power lead from my Vega ( yes i am testing the process on the wife's one in case i knacker my one up! sshhh)
