Guest UnderRoot Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) Hey there, My first post on Modaco..I have been using Acer Liquid Metal over last 6months and have decided to root it(Used HTC Wildfire before, rooted modded etc). I tried to root my Acer liquid Mt with Superoneclick and Z4root though it doesnt seem to work for me. My Liquid Mt is android 2.3.4. Though I've seen many threads regarding flashing custom roms and stuff, I couldnt find an appropriate thread for rooting. Basically I want to partition my SD Card for the purpose of storing Apps. Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :) Edited October 6, 2011 by UnderRoot

Better flash the custom recovery Recovery MT 2.2 and then install SuperUser 3.0 (via Recovery/flash zip). And you're rooted too. Edited October 6, 2011 by astuermer

Guest spicysomtam Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) Try holding the camera part way in, like you are focusing it. Or 'adb reboot recovery' if you have adb. Superuser 3.0.1 does not work on the Acer just released version 2.3.5 (4.000.07). To fix this, I removed it using Astro file manager, then went into the market and updated it to 3.0.2. 3.0.2 does work correctly. Anyone got the link for it so I can install straight off from the recovery? Once I got the superuser working, I was able to install busybox, and then enjoy all the UNIX/Linux commands I have enjoyed for the last 20 years of my life :) Edited October 6, 2011 by spicysomtam
Guest spicysomtam Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 You can download su 3.0.2 here.
Guest skyonesky Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) this procedure works with 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 (tested) 1. Download SuperUser su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip md5: 6d490575092a1c5d91af56b94c2328f4 - Eclair/Froyo 2. Copy SuperUser to SD 3. Install Vache's Recovery v 2.2 http://android.modac...r-liquidmt-v22/ 4. Enter Recovery shut down the phone press VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN + FOCUS (camera button half pressed) + POWER (phone vibrates) keep all keys pressed until u enter in recovery 5. Flash superuser zip file (be sure first to disable "toggle signature verify" under "other" menu) 6. reboot (7. install superuser from the market) Edited October 9, 2011 by skyonesky

Guest stonebear Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 (edited) And what about 2.2.2? what can i use on this ? Same procedure but use recovery 2.0 http://shoobee.eu/up...overyMT-2.0.zip I don't think you will need to install superuser from the market either. If the market version is still 3.04 definitely don't install it, it causes problems. Edited October 21, 2011 by stonebear

Guest stonebear Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 I had some trouble finding 1.0.1 (I remember now that I did need it when I was on Froyo), so I have uploaded it here http://www.mediafire.com/?zaw4f6c1f3v5xf4 Sorry for the bad info in the earlier post!
