I will be moving abroad next week and initially will be picking up a pay as you go sim for my blade. while on pay as you go i dont want to turn off ALL data access on my phone so that all i can do is text and call.

however when on wifi i would like to be able to use my phone to check words with friends, maybe use facebook etc and use it like i normally would, but make sure that its all through wifi. But once i've finished on wifi i want to be able to make sure everything is turned off.

Can someone please tell me exactly what needs to be turned off and on and when to achieve this? Thanks.

Am not sure what ROM you are on.

Go into Settings, tap Wireless and Networks > Mobile network settings > Data Enabled

Check it to enable data access, uncheck it to disable data access

No, data access is 3G, it's not wireless. To disable 3G go into settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks and uncheck the 'data enabled' box. To turn it back on go back and check the box. To enable or disable wifi go into settings/wireless and networks and check or uncheck the wifi box.

The easiest thing to do would be to install a power panel widget on your home screen so you can just press the button on the screen, and then you can see what is turned on and off easily too. They are included by default. Just long press on a blank area of your homescreen and choose widgets and then power control from the menu. You can usually choose which icons to display. Just have a play around with it till you find what you need.
