Guest Ralph Martin Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Ages ago, I installed Google Books directly from an apk onto my phone (GSF ROM, after earlier being on JJ). Yesterday Google Books was released for the UK. I tried to update Books via the market, but after downloading, the upgrade failed with a message about the signing being wrong, IIRC. So I used Titanium to remove Books, then tried to reinstall it. I still got an error. Finally, I reinstalled my ROM, wiping cache and Dalvik cache, and tried installing Books from the Market. I now get a message which says Unexpected Error -8. I guess somehow there is some stale stuff left somewhere from the previous apk. Does anyone know how I can purge this completely (short of wiping system and data), so I can get Books from the Market?

I think it was removed in later versions of GSF.
