Guest rob.boyle85 Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Hi - sorry if this is a common problem, but I can't see anyone with quite the same symptoms as me... I have a ZTE San Francisco (Blade) handset, bought in belgium (Mobistar) in mid June. I have not attempted to mod or install anything technical to the phone since buying it ... only technical change was I put in a 32GB SanDisk Micro SD card (done as soon as I bought the phone, never any problems) and really standard apps installed through market place - facebook, bbc news, skype, google maps. I have my work email synced with the phone, which I think had been starting to cause some low storage space issues - had to keep deleting email to prevent "low storage" warnings - the inbox reported having about 100MB of emails. The phone started to run slowly, then started to lock up (over 2-3 days). Eventually shut down altogether, and since then I haven't been able to get it to turn back on properly: just get through the "Green android" screen to the animated "android" logo but it doesn't get any further. Only solution is to remove the battery to turn it off. I'm guessing the problem was caused by email, but now i have no idea how to get the thing to boot up again. As I'm not someone who has ever played around with android i hadn't done any tweaks (install "clockwork" for example) and don't know what GEN my handset is - all the advice i've seen on here suggests you can only find this out by getting the phone running. Any advice on how to just restore factory settings so it'll boot up normally would be greatly appreciated. I'd also be willing to try installing various bits of software to get to Android 2.2 at some point as the consensus seems to be it's a big improvement, but for now just happy to have a working handset. Ps i dont really want to take it back to the shop as a lot of my work email is confidential and don't really want to hand over that data. Thanks Rob
