Guest hugobosslives Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 really another same thread? now you've started it... we might as well continue tho... slow down.... what "guide" are you trying to follow? What is your aim? to just obtain root? or to install a custom rom? follow this guide: http://android.modaco.com/topic/329864-22may-guide-how-to-install-a-custom-rom-on-the-zte-blade-gen1/
Guest sputnikstokie Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 hmm, thanks Tomm13b. im using this guide... http://www.sanfranciscoandroid.co.uk/android/how-to-install-custom-roms-android-2-2-from-scratch-on-the-orange-san-francisco-zte-blade/ the link provided above wont open for me. SS

SS just had a quick look through that guide. all seems okay but seems a long way of installing a rom. how about: search in google for universalandroot.apk (eg http://software2tech.com/tag/download-universal-androot/) download it and then install it. (i.e after downloading, find in file manager and click install) then run the app and click "root me" (or something like that) then "root me again" then in the android market download "rom manager" install and run app. It will install you clockwork. then just flash a rom Personally i would just flash a clockwork via fastboot without rooting and then flash cm7 via clockwork, there is no need to root if you don't install clockwork via an app. PS: why do you leave such massive spaces in your posts.....

Hi 'hugobosslives sorry, but that is way too technical for me.Like i say im new to this, ive had the phone 2 days now and it's my first android. Im still stuck on the install of the rooting.... Am i right to root, then install clockworkmodrecovery and then froyo 2.2 ? What is cm7? Fastboot? Will try your advice but as a novice im worried about "bricking".
