Hi All,

I have a Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade)

I have been running various ROMS currently on Swedish Spring RLS9

I have owned this phone for just under a year now.

I have been having issues with network coverage - the phone dispays full coverage however cannot make/receive voice calls. Also unable to send/receive texts.

However when the phone displays no coverage I can send/receive calls / texts.

but this is not always the case...

This is a very strange problem, I have tried previous ROMs which I have used successfully earlier in the year & have the same problems.

I have lent this phone to my wife who has been having the same problems with her own SIM in the phone & I have been unabl eto contact her on occassions also.

Could it just be the phone is faulty or is more likely to be a rooting / ROM issue.

Thanks for looking & responding

Could be a faulty phone.

I would recommened upgrading to Gen2 with a newer rom, you have nothing to lose.

If I were you, I'd check first with the network operator and find out if the fault lies there on their end, then you check the sim-card? It could be that its not registering on the network regardless...due to perhaps loose connection at times :)

Possibly to nail it down, try switching to another sim-card and see what happens after a day of usage on it and see if the problem is the same, if it is, you've nailed it down to probably the hardware fault - suspect antennae...?

When you say Gen2 with a newer ROM do you mean a new phone?

I have already tried 2 different SIMs in the phone both with the same result.

No, I mean updating your phone to Gen2 via TPT. Then installing android 2.3.

Thanks i have run Mr Pigfish & he states:-

Gen1 (sold with android 2.1) I'm not sure updating to Gen2 will solve the underlyig problem.

I think in this instance I would like to go back to my orange ROM (factory default) & try that for a while...

Does anyone have a link to somewhere I can get the original Orange San Francisco ROM?

Thanks in advance

You can get a stock rom from this forum at http://android.modac...ade-stock-roms/

I have to say though it sounds like your phone is faulty.I would get ready to claim on your phone or household insurance for that dropped and broken phone of yours! Have you tried a sim card from another network operator? Have you contacted your operator about this?

I have the Orange San fran just like yourself and have used most of the cooked roms here without issue.

I am now using cm7 which is Gen 2 and my san fran works in the UK and has been used in other EU countries.

yeah i think i'm going to have to put it back to fatory defaults (orange bloated ROM) & try & get it replaced.

Thanks for the link to the list of ROMS however I'm having problems finding a working download link for the OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08 Orange Factory ROM

Thanks
