I was thinking to install a new boot animation for my CyanoGenMod 7 N221 but when in root explorer i try to overwrite the bootanimation.zip in /system/media i realized that there was not enough space left.

Root Explorer told me 136,29MB Used - 1,71MB free.

Now the question is : Can i resize my partitions ? How ? Do i need to format ?

Help !

I have exactly the same problem. After CM7 I tried installing Google Apps. Installation was fine, no errors. But still some of the apps were not installed. I checked with terminal and df-command that the system partition was full.

My partitions are from Ginger Stir Fry:

/system 140M

/data 314M

/cache 50M

/cache had 0% usage so maybe I could decrease that and increase /system?

But how?

U can place your bootanimation.zip in /data/local folder instead of /system/media. It works good.

or you could go through the apps in the CM7 zip, and remove what you dont need

I have a 140MB partition and after loading Gapps (which I also trimmed), I have 16MB left
