Like most of us on here, we want a Fast, Stable, Usable Rom for our Dell Streaks and I am just like you in wanting that as well. I have tried most, if not all of the different flavors available for the Streak from stock to custom. What I decided to do was to take a stock image and make it faster and better. So after many trial and errors, weeks of research and testing, I came up with Longhorn. It is not by any means a final solution for the Streak, but a constant project of mine. So I will maintain it and upgrade it when I find a new way to make it better. I am open to suggestions as well.

Longhorn is fully customizable and is a good canvas to start with. It is based on Stock 354, and had all of the bloat-ware removed. Then slowly added different tweaks and custom Longhorn theme to make it what it is today.

What it has:

Longhorn 1.0 is overclocked to 1.267 thanks to DJ Steve’s kernel (works great without overclocking, but good to have if needed)

Rooted

Minimally installed Software

Net and system speed tweaks

I would like to thank all of those that have contributed to the making of this. It is kind of a Frankenstein made up of small bits and pieces that I have found from all over. Most of the credit goes to Dj Steve, Krad, Spidla, Mid_Life_Crisis, Chrisrotolo, NickShertzer, Frysee ,and everyone else I can’t recall. You guys rock!!

Longhorn 1.3 has;

Based on Stock 354 due to some installation issues for some

a few more Kernel tweaks

New Theme

updated APKs, Fonts and Boot Animation

Glad you like the ROM!!! I know that with the OC is does become less stable. I am working on a new version that I hope to have finished this weekend. It should help with some of the FC issues.

Glad you like my ROM.I agree that the overclocking does seem to make it less stable at times. Until I can create my own OC kernel, I wont use the OC version. I will still have an option for those that want it. Besides, the non OC is just as fast without it.

Why would someone want to go from 2.3.7 back to 2.2.2? That is a mystery.

No you don't have to flash the AMSS since you already have a Froyo one currently. It should just flash over 1.1 fine.

I am looking for a few Beta testers, preferably those that have it working and those that could not get Version 1.2 to work.

Only those that PM me will get further info, basically let me know if you are interested. Keep in mind this is for Advanced users, because of the potential troubleshooting that might be needed.

Hello,

Please pardon if this has been mentioned, but is this rom portrait orientation fixed?

Thank you!

No it is not Portrait Fixed. I left that option up to each individual. There are a few zip files that will lock it for you if you want.

Thank you for a quick reply.

I was referring not to the laucher that allows portrait fix, but a general orientation fix throughout the rom.

Could you please clarify what zip files you were referring to?

Thank you.

I knew what you were referring to, that is why i worded it that way. I prefer Landscape so I don't use any orientation lock in my Roms. Look here for more info about the zip files I was referring to. Keep in mind it is based off of 354.
