Guest iT iS Me Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 also please feel free to donate to my work if you find it useful :P - any amount is appreciated GBP Donate | USD Donate I would love to donate and definitely it is useful to most of the users, but I cannot say it is useful unless it supports Arabic.:unsure:
Guest streak5 Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 You can just flash the swype.zip found on xda for the simple streak. I did -- booted into streakmod ..updateded zip (named SimpleStreak_Swype.zip from xda) and all works fine. For the life of me, I can't find the file. I'm looking page by page in that thread looking for it. If it is too difficult can you link to the file download. Thanks, bud!
Guest streak5 Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 I download swype v2.27.69 and just install over the previous. working perfect. Where did you download it from?
Guest rvbarton Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Stephen & Fards... Welcome back! I've missed your updates. Glad to see you. I'm going to try out your new ROM. Will update / donate shortly. Once again, I speak for myself mainly, but I"m sure I speak for others as well when I say your work is greatly appreciated. Your actions cause many to better able to enjoy their phones. Thanks. -Robby
Guest rebski Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 I would love to donate and definitely it is useful to most of the users, but I cannot say it is useful unless it supports Arabic.:unsure: I hope you get your Arabic version, have you checked @maxicet's work on internationalising the rom over on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=698 I can't say whether Arabic is there but at least a multilingual effort is being made so who knows where the project might lead.

Guest chenxi1203 Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 I can't use sim card!!!!!Save me!!
Guest lordmorphous Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Installed it last night and so far, so good. Aside from having a sleep of death this morning when I pulled it off the charger, it's running great. Here's my tips on getting over the random app fc's and installing the latest swype: I don't use Dell Stage and install ADW instead, Using Titanium Backup, I uninstall all the Stage apps and make ADW a system app (This is a must if you uninstall Dell Stage! If you don't make your launcher a system app and down the road do a factory reset, you will have no launcher!) I also use Titanium Backup to remove all system apps that could be downloaded from the market, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Voice Search, Youtube, etc... Use Titanium Backup to uninstall Swype. Then using Root Explorer, I delete libswypecore.so from /system/lib/ reboot Then I install the apps I want from the market, install Swype Installer, and install the latest Swype and reboot again. Seems to work for me. Now if I could just get rid of the sleep of death, everything will be perfect!
Guest JOBooth Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 If it helps at all, my wife's Dell Venue social widget does the same d@mn thing. Won't let her log in but I can. I couldn't log into the social widget on my Streak. Doesn't matter much cause I run LauncherPro, though. I think it's something f'd up with Dell Stage. fyi...

Guest Matt Bernius Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 ## Documentation Questions ## I'll be updating the Wiki page ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/StreakDroid_GingerStreak_2.4_Beta ) for this rom tonight or tomorrow and I was hoping to get some feedback on some questions... 1. I'll add the netflix issue (I had the same experience) 2. Is it agreed that there is an issue with Swype? 3. I'd love some estimates as to the amount of time you are usually stuck on the "android" screen after you a. update from another Rom to 2.4.x (following the preferred procedure) b. Update from 2.4 to 2.4.x and wipe the Dalvik Cache -- seems like its up to 5 minutes, but I was hoping for some additional feedback. What else have I missed that isn't already on the page? http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/StreakDroid_GingerStreak_2.4_Beta
Guest Al Rahman Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Do u mean full arabic support like in settings n other menus or just the connected letters issue??

Guest bTrue Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 This new build broke Swype for me, as well as Voice Search. Steve, help! Another fix that worked for me... I copied the apk from the previous GingerStreak Build 2.4 to my SD Card before I upgraded to this one (it is located in the system\apps folder). After the upgrade, I simply installed the apk from my SD Card. Worked like a charm for me! Hope this helps!

Guest (InsertNameHere) Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 if u dont install, how u can use? Install...replace...and change to default keyboard. i hope it will work. Why not obtain the new swype beta? Just open the zip, in system\apps delete swype.apk, then once flashed install the new swype.
