someone help me..cannot use universal androot

hello,,,please help me,,i want to change to my zte racer 2.2.2 to 2.3.4 but i cannot root it..my phone seems doesnt get to root using universal androod..it saids FAILED...but then i start using superoneclick..it works perfectly...when i use recovery manager..first i can install the recovery which is Clockworkmod recovery 3.0.1.4 but whe i tried to reboot it into recovery the screen seems ti be blank...it cannot go into the recovery..

So,,PLEASE HELP ME HOW TO CHANGE MY ZTE RACER...thank you

you should check a bit more around the forum, this has been answered many times.. for rooting try z4root, you can find it via google, about installing recovery try the search function, there are more ways to install it.. also check racerboys rom thread, it describe how to install a rom
