Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 I was talking about this with Shonk in this thread: http://android.modaco.com/topic/347352-gen-3-is-not-clear-for-me/ The situation: The splash image in the ZTE Gen3 image.bin is 990KB, as opposed the the 750KB ones from all Gen1 and Gen2 updates. Gen1/2 splash images do not get displayed correctly in Gen3 (the green android is displayed as a turquoise android) Here's a Gen1/Gen2 splash image: http://www.mediafire.com/?q531lw5bsnsw5f8 and the Gen3 one: http://www.mediafire.com/?z66052i9tt74kcv Both of those can be renamed to splash.img and flashed in a TPT/windows flash. They are both 480x800 The Gen1/Gen2 format is simply a 16bit bitmap saved in the RGB565 format. In Photoshop I can save in 16 bit formats (which makes a 750KB file) and 24 bit formats (which make a 1,126KB file). So any ideas? how do I make this mysterious 990KB bitmap for Gen3?
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Help me please, If I can't spend my day doing this then I will be forced to study for my English exam...
Guest Amphoras Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Hmm, maybe thats why my screen went crazy when I tried flashing a TPT of mixed Gen 1/Gen 3 files. Will need to try it again using the Gen 3 splash image and see if it works.
