Guest evad Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 I've received my Archos 80 G9 this evening. First impressions are very positive, basing on reviews here and there I was expecting plasticky and rather poor quality, but it's not that bad at all. Anyway, my question is - how to save a custom mobile APN? I have attached Huawei 3G stick to USB port and I'd like to add custom APN to check if it would work, but once "Edit APN" dialog appears and I populate it with necessary details, I don't know how to actually save it. Anyone?
Guest cajl-jbmm Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 impossible to add just for the stick archos
Guest evad Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 impossible to add just for the stick archos Even with Archos stick I should be able to add/edit/save custom APNs somehow...
Guest gadgetshop Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I used APNmanager from the market on my Vega, could give that a try
Guest evad Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I used APNmanager from the market on my Vega, could give that a try Hmm, interesting. When I search for "apnmanager" in Market app, no such apps are found. When I search via Market website, I find these: https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.fores.android.apn https://market.android.com/details?id=ale.android.apnmanager But when I try to install them, I get "Purchase was cancelled" (despite they both are free apps). Really weird... :/
Guest evad Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Reply to self: according to Archos email support, editing APNs is only possible when 3G stick is plugged into 3G stick port. Also, I've managed to get hold of APNmanager apk file, installed it but still got no luck in connecting via 3G port using non-Archos dongle. Guess I'll need to spend that £49.99 someday...
Guest cajl-jbmm Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Hourra Archos Support say the same of me !!!!!
Guest stonebear Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 So this means that if I have the 3G dongle and put my phone sim in it I can use the G9 as a phone?
