I have a ZTE blade that has developed a fault. The 'chassis' behind the backcover towards the bottom has burned out exposing some gold ribbon. The phone will work perfectly well without the chassis in place, so I was just would like to know if any one can tell what is the purpose of the chassis in terms of electrical function in the first place if the phone work without it (there is what looks like a battery near the bottom of the part) and what do you think caused the burn out? Is still safe to use? Thanks

P.S. If anyone has a spare chassis that they are willing to sell me it would be appreciated.

Dunno whether its safe or not but I would just put some electrical tape over the exposed part and see what happens.

My guess is that this part that burned is an antenna there seem to be three around the back chassis. now whether its Cellular, Wifi or Blutooth that burned i dont know.

Yes there is definitely some antennas back there, I did a test and turned the phone on without the chassis in place and could get no signal which makes sense.

With the chassis in place I get a weak cellular signal, wifi seems ok and I havent tested bluetooth.

aha, so the cellular antenna IS at the bottom. guess for low SAR like all the rest.
