ZTE won't boot past specific point? Cannot find solution in any posts.

I have looked through other posts to try and find a solution but 1. I can't make sense of them and 2. I have no idea if those solutions would help me out because they're problem doesn't sounds the same as mine.

So months ago I flashed my phone, added a custom ROM etc etc and all that was sucsessful. But yesterday I was trying to update SU (which failed) and I downloaded and installed BusyBox (using the most popular app on the Market and using the first selection from the drop down menu, the one with the highest number) and now it won't load past the green android bot. I can get into Recovery and I've reset everything to factory default, wiped my phone, formatted what I can and it still will not boot past that point. I have no idea what to do! I'm too scared to try and install a GEN2 something-or-other because 1. I have no idea what to install to fix this and 2. I can't remember if my phone is GEN2 because last time I check was months ago! I really can't afford to of bricked my phone but to be honesst I don't see how I could have :( I'm just dead worried and confused and I just really need some help.

If I've not made myself clear (which I most probably haven't) just say and I'll try and explain myself better.
