Guest Carlos Manuel Leemet Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Hi all! can anybody try to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to work on ZTE Blade? http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1309598 I also posted this to forum.xda-developers ZTE Blade forum..... ZTE Blade needs the boot.img which needs editing: init files ex: init.rc the kernel text needs fixing, etc. lib and bin folder files needs editing and some maybe replacing! usr folder needs ZTE Blade's usr folder files! Can anybody try to get it to work on ZTE Blade? I can not find the boot.img or init files for 4.0 Android ROM! :/ and I can not edit bot.img Edited October 19, 2011 by Carlos Manuel Leemet
Guest the_crevis Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) The simple answer is no, as there is no android 4.0 source code. The blade has an ARMv6 processor and the sdk (used to make the nexus s etc ports) is ARMv7. Therefore the lib files are not compiled to work on the blade, it would take an HUGE amount of work, effort, and skill to convert these files to ARMv6 binary. So, for all of you who keep asking, A PORT IS NOT POSSIBLE UNTIL WE HAVE THE SOURCE CODE TO WORK WITH. Edited November 14, 2011 by the_crevis
Guest Carlos Manuel Leemet Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 The simple answer is no, as there is no android 4.0 source code. The sdk, is simply the code and tools to create apps for 4.0, not ROMS. soon there is 4.0 Android ROMs so then it's possible! takes only little time when HTC or Samsung phone have Android 4.0 ROM :)
Guest jackal-sk Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Would there be any significant advantage for Blade from 4.0 ?
Guest the_crevis Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 soon there is 4.0 Android ROMs so then it's possible! takes only little time when HTC or Samsung phone have Android 4.0 ROM :) Even then we will have to wait for the source code from google (hopefully released late November/December ) to have android 4.0 for our blades. Lets just hope cyanogen supports 4.0 for the ZTE Blade. Anyway there is already a thread on ice cream sandwich, so this thread is unnecessary and is clogging up the forum, it should be closed/ deleted.

I saw one forum but it's other, it's not same! so that's why I made this topic... and whatever...
Guest rapidone Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 There are rumors that the source code will be released at 17th of November. Source
Guest domenico lamberti Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Wouldn't it be possible to make an SDK port for the Blade like the have done for the Nexus S, SE Xperia X10, SGS and other phones
Guest solidslash Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 No. It has been answered MANY times.
