Hi i've just rooted my phone with universal androot then i installed rom manager and titanium backup, ran rom manager and installed clockworkmod 5.0.2.0 then i backed up my current rom and backed up my apps, then just to make sure i went to manage backups in rom manager and none were listed checked on the sd card nothing , so i attempted to reboot into recovery and try it manually so i power up with down held then it just keeps vibrating and flashing the green android when i let go of vol down it just boots up normally. Can anyone offer any help i'd be massively grateful, thanks a lot. ;)

Try flashing an older clockwork recovery, the newer ones didn't work on mine but older one did, I'm using 3.0.1.4, also try and hold menu button with volume and power

Wow thanks for fast reply! Even when i select boot into recovery in rom manager it doesn't, i'm gona try blade recovery manager and clockwork 3.0.2.8 from the gen 1 guide thread see if that works. Cheers.

5.0.2.0 is only for Gen 2. You'll need to flash a Gen 1 Clockwork or it won't work.

Thanks for that, i just ran rom manager and selected flash clockworkmod recovery at the top, i assumed (stupidly?) that it would install the correct version. And i do know what they say about assumption  Thanks both for your help.

Exactly what I did. Scroll down to bottom it will give option to flash older recovery. You should then back up your current rom and then be able to flash a new rom if wanted

I managed to install recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.5-blade-gen1.img using recovery manager 0.37b but when i clicked to backup current firmware it says that clockworkmod must be installed to backup firmware  so i clicked to reboot into recovery and it rebooted into clockworkmod and i managed to backup my rom, do you think clockwork was flashed properly or is this a problem with recovery manager? I checked the md5 before i flashed. Incidentally rom manager still says i've got 5.0.2.0 installed.

Don't use rom manager or recovery manager (No point).

Generally, it is recommended to do both to prevent any possible problems, i.e. wipe both cache partition and data/factory reset.

In the case of CM7 nightlies for instance, I don't do it, but... if going from CM7 nightly to stable, then yes and vice versa. :)

Thanks everyone for your help :D now running swedish spring don't know what i was worried about that was pop :P now just want to install a frankish theme, do i just reboot into clockwork and install it the same? And thank you again B)

Edit: also if there's apps on here i don't need can i just uninstall them with titanium? like the stock alarm, the email app (i use gmail), quickoffice and the stopwatch app cos i use a different one.
