San Franciso/ZTE Blade mobile - white screen

I have an Orange San Franciso android mobile which is basically a ZTE Blade. When i switch it on from standby two white vertical lines appear. Then the screen goes white and flickers between white screen and normal display. If i ignore the flickering and continue using the phone the screen goes back to normal after a while. The phone has not been dropped and no apps has been added. What is causing this?

Haven't heard of this one before.

Is it relatively new? Definitely take it back for a replacement.

The mobile is around 6 months old. The funny thing is that it is working perfectly now.
