Unlock via Official 2.3.5 - Confirmed!

Hi all! A week or two ago I asked about reports of unlocking a Liquid MT by flashing the official 2.3.5 - I was skeptical, as none of the other phones I've used have unlocked like this, but I saw some reports that it worked with the Australian version of the phone.

Anyway, cut a long story short I picked up a Liquid MT from France, locked to SFR, on froyo. I put an O2 sim in it:

I guess this is the French for enter unlock code :lol:

Flashed official Gingerbread using Acer Download Tool:

And promptly got a message through from O2. So that's unlock via a firmware upgrade on a Euro spec phone confirmed working. Hope the info is useful for someone :)
