Advent Vega - Erased SD in error

Hello everyone. I have an Advent Vega and this is my first Android operating system. I am not particularly IT literate although I can usually find my way around. Tonight however in an attempt to upgrade my Advent Vega software with a view to gaining more functionality through your rom, I have accidentally erased my SD card with no back up of any of the pre-loaded applications/data that was on it at the time of purchase in April. The vega has got more and more unresponsive....screen not responding, scolling not working and or buttons no longer going to what was expected. My problems started when I tried to load a USB Driver but accidentally tried to load the zip file rather than the extracted data which in turn froze the tablet. Needless to say even though I have downloaded your recovery programme and R8 none of this is going to help I guess whilst my computer (transfer companion) is not even seeing the Vega Drive ...and the Vega is showing the SD card space as unavailable...with a symbol showing an exclamation mark against the SD sign. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
