Push Poll

Hey guys,

can someone please explain to me the difference between Push and Poll?

from what I've understood so far, poll is where your email client refreshes the data at a set interval and push is where the email host sends you the email straight to your phone?

it doesn't queit make sense to me.

I'm looking for a decent email client for my ZTE Skate.

its got to be light and user friendly, Only use it for my hotmail account wherein i have added folders for 2 other email addresses that I've linked to my main hotmail.

I'm currently split between the hotmail app or the K9 one, will consider others if they are light,
