I've had my blade for nearly a year now, it was my 1st android phone and i think its a great little phone. I'm now looking to move on to something else, for my budget the choices i have are samsung galaxy s or the lg optimus 2x but i really cant decide. I love the samsung screen, but love the look and feel of the lg.

So, if anyone has either could you post your likes and dislikes about them pleaase,.

I can't decide between lg optimus 2x (better camera) and the Motorola Atrix (More RAM)

....think the SGS is getting a bit old now.

The huawei u8800 doesnt appeal to me :( , i think it looks cheap imo. I'm wanting something alittle better quality wise. Ive always liked the galaxy s, but since having alittle play with the 2x i cant decide.

Nexus One is denied ICS upgrade.... so that's ruled out...

The original Samsung Galaxy S can have a completely unusable GPS (Dunno which revisions).

Xperia Play

2011+ Sony Ericsson Devices (Xperia Arc etc).

Samsung Galaxy S Plus (Galaxy S would be ok if you could guarantee the revision).

Palm Pre 2 (Android is boring).

Acer Liquid Metal

Motorola Defy+ (2011 model so should get unlocked bootloader eventually if bought sim free).

Nexus S

(My main problem with the blade is ZTE's mockery of Opensource and terrible quality control / build quality).

(Avoid First generation snapdragon if you can and devices with crappy dual touch like the blade).

The Xperia Play is available for a great price on pay as you go with O2, and can be used with giffgaff straight out of the box.

I've recently bought a OMC and it's a nice phone, a good upgrade from the Blade imo and better than its specs would suggest. The current lack of an unlock solution is unfortunate however.

The SGS 1 is pants, despite the spec. I have a friend with one. He prefers my Blade!! Except for the touch sensitive buttons. They're cool!

So many damn revisions of the thing though, he might just have a bad one.

The Xperia Play is stupidly cheap atm but apparently quite bulky and pointless if you're not a gamer.

The Acer Liquid Metal is cheap from Expansys.

Not pointless (Not like the features are costing you anything - in fact ignoring the gaming part its probably better in every category than any similar priced phone (performance / audio quality / camera / screen quality).

Don't see why there is the obsession with bulk (At least why men want something none bulky - I would always take features / performance / build quality / rugged etc over asthetics / weight / size).

No denying it's a stunning spec'd phone for the price. In fact I'm trying to work out what;s wrong with it to have led to it dropping from £500 to £150 in 6 months! But if you have no interest in gaming then you'll spend the rest of the year carrying the extra size and weight of basically a joypad for absolutely no reason. It's that bit that's pointless. :D

Note that I haven't see one. I have no idea quite how bulky it is. But I'm told it's quite sizeable

It would be the phone I'd get, but then, I am a gamer... :D

For me, anything that's HPDI, about £150 and has CM7.

And is a tad faster than the blade...

I can dream :P

So your budget is around 300£? I'd buy Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire or HTC Desire Z(If you want a psychical keyboard).

The best choice for me would be Desire Z. Versatile supply of roms(my fav CM7 also). The CPU is "only" 800mhz, but I've seen videos, where people showcase their Z's, overclocked to 2GHZ! So it must be pretty powerful processor!

I was looking for a Desire Z everywhere!

Anyone know where I can get it on the cheap or know of anyone selling one?>

Thanks!

Acer Liquid Metal at £131 from Expansys has got to be a tempting offer at that price.

2.3.4 Android OS & there is a team waiting for ICS source code to be released so they can MOD it.

Far better value than the £514 ( www.clove.co.uk ) for Galaxy Nexus.
