I really think that we need a improved camera for usage when your out getting drunk.. :) And having a blast with your friends..

Cause i think that every SPV owner has had some trouble with the camera in a slighter darkness.

How many agrees with this??

A third party can make compatible hardware as well though HTC might be working on it as we speak(wishful thinking). I would like improved video quality as well and I’m quite sure the phone can handle it.

I think that the quality of the pictures also will be surprisely better with a blitz..

But that's only my opinion..

100 % with you. I wonder if it may be possible to simply build something like an addon that you stick between spv and camera and has a flash in it. battery may be powerful enough for some nice drunk-shots....

I don't know that microsoft would be the one to e-mail, they are a software company after all.

I don't use the camera that often, but the main reason for that is the slowness of the camera software in capturing pictures, and the fact that it's almost impossible to take pictures in the dark...

sorry - hardly use the camera myself, its occasionally useful but the only phone i ever really used one on was the NK7650 - just because it was there. I try to turn my phone off and put it out of mind when I am out for a beer or two - it is bad enough when I send drunken txt's or call random people from the phone book - at least I can blame somone else - when there is photographic evidence it is getting risky!!! :) ;)

If you want something good then asking microsoft to build it is like asking a monkey to bake a cake.

Name a single hardware product made by Microsoft that has turned out rubbish.

They make quality products - I've not bought a single one of their products that I wish I hadn't, and I believe if making the SPV was handed SOLELY over to them, bugtrack would be almost empty.

Remember that the SPV update doesn't alter WCE (Microsoft's part) at all, it's the GSM side which is changed, and that's what Orange controls.

It's all very well wanting a camera that can take better pictures and video, but the real problem is not with the camera, it's with the serial interface being used. At the end of the day, this will always be the limiting factor, unless O decide to make the SPV both a USB slave AND host, thereby allowing USB cameras to be developed, increasing the badwidth and therefore the picture (and especially video) quality.

I'm sure that a flash would greatly improve the useability of the camera, especially in low lighting (goes without saying really :) but with the current camera retailing for £100, I'd hate to think what the price of a camera with a combined flash would be!

Just my thoughts,

Hax
