Would anyone know who to make the camera on the phone silent? I have a rooted acer MT with android 2.3.6

While I was looking in the "build.prop" for another reason today I did see an option for camera shutter sound, so I reckon you could change that to do it. Maybe changing the =1 to =0?

You could swap the shutter and recorder sound files with silent ogg files using root explorer or adb.

Those files are namely 'camera_click.ogg' and 'VideoRecord.ogg' under '/system/media/audio/ui/'.

It is not difficult to create such files and I have done it for you.

Just download the files below and swap it with the original files.

Secondly, you could mute the focus sound by setting the system volume to zero.

I only know of changing it through third-party apps, like 'widgetsoid'.

i swapped the files it works but not completely

there is still the countdown sound "tut tut"

the files i swapped only disable the shutter sound...

is there anyway to remove the countdown sound?

eventually after swapping the files..taking picture process seems a bit longer.

i am using t&l rom and it seems the third-party apps doesn't seem to have any effect on it..

i tried turning off media and also ringing tone but still have the camera sound

need some advise on it..thank you
