White Screen of Death

My girlfriends blade was working absolutely fine for several months, I had loaded CWM and rooted it etc and it was running CM7 latest stable.

However just today it will only display a white screen or nothing at all. When she turns it on its just white then goes black.

If I ring her it vibrates and she can actually answer if she presses the right part of the screen, although its as if the screen is off!?

She says she hasnt downloaded any apps in months, and my phone is running exactly the same setup and is absolute fine.

The only thing she has said is she went to sleep with it and thinks she dropped it in the night because she woke up with it on the floor, although it was only a few feet onto carpet? (Mine has sustained more than a metre onto concrete!)

SO do you think this is hardware or software problem?

Oh also, she cant boot into clockwork or FTP as the screen is just white.

Thanks guys!

you could try a flash that doesn't need you to boot. such as tpt.

but i doubt it will work. sounds like the screen got hurt

yeah, try a tpt. if this doesn't work then it's definitely the screen. A similar thing happened to me a few months ago, phone dropped, screen went black, could still answer calls. I was still under warranty, tpt'd to stock, sent it back and got a new one for free! and the replacement was oled!

Alright I will look into that then as I have never flashed via TPT before..

She's currently bought another blade second hand from a local indian shop which she's using for now. Sure would still be nice for it to be replaced under warranty though!

you just unzip the tpt. and put it in a file called "image" on the root of the sd card. then turn on with menu and vol+ held until you see green texts.

there are many tpt packages on here to try it with.

Sounds like the LCD ribbon might be not be connected properly.

Decide whether you are going to send it back.

If you are not because you think its user error etc then look at the digitizer replacement thread.

If its not that then ask
