Guest sikittle Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 Hi, I have an HTC Desire which until yesterday was working great. However, yesterday it started gaining time, and a lot of time. So every hour or so it gains about 5 or 6 minutes. Needless to say this is causing some big problems. My question is: does anyone know how to fix it? And, does anyone know definitively what kind of problem this is / could be (hardware? software? are the clocks run on dedicated chips?). I'm running Android 2.2, kernel 2.6.32, build 2.17.61.3 One way of fixing this would be to use ClockSync. I've got this installed. The only problem is it needs root access, which I don't have. Is rooting it and using ClockSync going to be the only way of fixing it? Would a hardreset fix it? One potential problem if I have to root it: my volume down key is broken. I think this means I'm not going to be able to start the phone in the required mode in order to root it, is that correct? Many thanks
