Guest V5er Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Ok I had the Blade (now running Swedish Spring) unlocked online using a recommended provider from this forum. No problems with any network's SIM until now. I just tried a working T Mobile SIM and it wasn't recognised at all. No option to input PUK codes and searching for a network was useless. Another TMob SIM was recognised fine. Tmob say they should both work in an unlocked phone. I tried them in a different unlocked phone and they both worked. Tried a Lyca Mobile SIM in both phones. Blade didn't recognize it. So could my Blade still have some sort of lock on it? If so how can I fix it?
Guest t0mm13b Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 It may not be the lock on it, more of the sim card might need a bit of jiggling to get it in place. or require a little bit of pressure on it to get the handset to register the contacts on the simcard itself with the sim reader on the back of it. Some sim cards are thicker then others, some might have barely a millimeter difference around the edge... its not the handset.... just saying :)
Guest V5er Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 (edited) Thanks mate, you were right. It was the SIM that wasn't quite straight after over 4 years in a Samsung D900I. A bit of electrical tape sorted that. Next to train a Dad on a touchscreen phone! Edited November 9, 2011 by V5er

Great to hear and best of luck in training your Dad on touchscreens.... What was the old adage - you cannot teach old dogs new tricks  :)
Guest V5er Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks I need all the luck and patience there is! I think he's struggling with the screen and keyboard size as he can use my GS2 no problems at all. Even I find it tricky after using mine. I've considered directing him to an iPhone as its simpler to use (preset system) and the support would suit his needs (and, mine - less questions!)
