Hello everybody!

I have a problem that keeps me mad every time it's happenning.

I have 2 blades, grey and white. Grey works well but white have random reboots while playing games or other apps. I can't find any causes. I can play the same game and sometimes it reboots and sometimes not. Once a day or so.

ver.: 2.3.4 P729B01

Kernel: 2.6.35.7-perf+

Ginger Stir Fry B27

Help me, please.

Specifically, what games are you playing and what apps are you using... trying to nail this down FYI. :)

Edit:

There are many possibilities - could be a badly designed application ticking away in the background, a game could be triggering the overheating of the battery which causes the reboot, a faulty handset....

Every game, I can say...It was since day 1 I bought it from Ebay. Android 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, no difference.

Have you not considered that the handset could be faulty - as for buying it from Ebay.... that's iffy...

where did you get the Grey one from, direct from Orange? :)

Too late for this, I already have it. No, Grey(or black) is from Ebay seller, too.

I read about it earlier and know that the problem is "famous".

Yes, I tried Swedish Spring, Stir Fry, CM, and few other ROMs and it's obvious I had to wipe the phone.

Also, if I make a backup of my grey phone via CWM and place it inside the white one, would it works? I mean, it won't brick my phone?

firstly. if it happens on all roms. then it is almost certainly a hardware fault. see if orange will take it back (if you live in UK).

second. a cw restore would work but then the two devices would be essentially the same. for example, things like the mac address would be the same which would badword up the connections if both your blades were on at the same time. wouldn't advise. and any way it won't solve the problem.

presumably you've tried not installing any apps after a new rom?

also try underclocking it for a day. try 480mhz. it will be a bit slow. but it will confirm if the processor has given up and can't handle its stock speeds (for example if it has overheated and melted a little). have you overclocked before? On my old desktop. i had it overclocked to 4.5ghz for about 3 years (stock speed 3.2ghz) and it always worked perfectly. then one day it completely melted the heat sync. and would keep rebooting as the temp would be huge! i took off the cover and saw the melted metal... :( thats the comprise you have with overclocking. you wil eventually kill it....

EDIT: when i say the heat sync melted. i mean the bit that connects the sync to the top of the chip melted along with a bit of the sync. not the whole thing!

EDIT 2: sorry for double posting. i hit reply instead of edit my accident and now i can't delete this post i am guna leave it
